Watch TV via Xbox 360

Microsoft has announced to make a new cable TV service for Xbox 360. Microsoft itself has a desire to compete with other services that have the same idea to bring TV into the home, such as Google TV and Apple TV. With this plan, it makes Xbox 360 not only a pure gaming machine, but also an entertainment hub for Microsoft and will be another alternative for people to watch TV. To run this plan, Microsoft has been in talks with TV networks to provide TV shows and even entire channels through its gaming console.

Reuters reports that Microsoft is now having several options to support the plan, including a new "virtual cable operator" that would deliver channels, like ABC, NBC, Fox, CBS, ESPN or CNN for a monthly fee. The company also has plan to turn the Xbox into a cable box of sorts which allowed for "enhanced interactivity" with programming. Thus, Xbox 360 already incorporates messaging system as well as Twitter and Facebook feeds.

In reality, the ordinary TV service provides a hundred or more channels as a package, while many people actually just want the ones they choose. By this fact, it can be a good value for them, because Microsoft allows customers to pay for a few channels through the Xbox.
